Poker Strategy is a very loose term in today's world of Internet Poker Rooms. Most players have to develop a strategy that fits their way of thinking and their way of playing. Most poker literature out there caters more to the higher stakes player, but in fact, most players out there today will jump on a 0.25/0.50 poker table just to have some fun. The high stakes players are few and far between and are generally very knowlegeable when it comes to poker.
Here are some tips and tricks that will help you gain an advantage over the players you will see at some of these sites.
1. Don't play too many hands.
When starting, you will probably pay to see a lot of flops at the
lower levels. That's okay, but when the stakes get raised, it is time
to get clever with the cards. Be patient and wait until you are holding
a strong hand before making any moves. Once you do have a strong hand,
there are many ways to maximize your profit which will be explained
later on.

2. Stay away from going on 'tilt'.
It's easy to let your emotions take over at the table. Annoying players
and bad beats can throw your concentration and ruin your game. Just
close your eyes, count to ten, and re-focus on the game. Every hand
is a new game which you can profit from, so don't blow it by getting
angry at the last hand.

3. Roll with it. It may be quite
obvious, but it's still a mistake that players make: DO NOT
play above your bankroll. You may score a few early wins but that
does not make you the next Doyle Brunson (yet). Enjoy the ride
and take your time to build that bankroll.

From Zero"
4. Avoid making mistakes. Few
players out there know what the most common mistakes in poker are,
and even less know how to avoid them. Phil Gordon says: "Everyone
makes mistakes. The thing is, a good player will learn from them while
a bad player will make the same mistake over and over again. And poker
players that can exploit these mistakes will win."
